The results of ITEC statistics' operations
till the end of July 2004 that have been collected by H.N.C.
statistics’ team and L.T.S.S., covered 935 Lebanese
regions and funded in 684 regions
professional activities in technology sectors (entities &
individuals) as the following Numbers & Facts:
NF1 <HUMAN POWER>: The existence of about 40000 Lebanese
specialists (38832 are passed by ITEC representatives) in one
or more of the technology
professions in all graduation &
experience levels:
3451 employers - 18601 employees -
13280 free lancers - about 3500 are in unemployment status.
..However, according to
serious estimations, the number may touch the 38000 where the
work-location of about 3000 specialists are unreachable by
ITEC statistics operations
(home/emigration/..)
* N.B.: More than 84% of the
entities refused to declare officially about the number of
their employees.
NF2 <ECONOMICAL POWER>: The existence of 5996 entities (factories,
trading companies & P.O.S) specialized in one or more of
the technology fields:
a- 4962 (84.4 %) entities information
published in ITEC.
b- 1034 ( 15.6 %) entities information are not
published in ITEC because one or more of the following reasons:

239 entities..are going to close.
-
245 entities..most of them are small points of sale &
service, didn’t care to publish their info.
-
103 entities..for several times, ITEC representatives
couldn’t contact any person in-charge to apply the info.
-
62 entities..unexplained refusal to give the info.
-
73 entities..not respected behavior with ITEC representatives.
-
312 entities..most of their offices are always closed.
